Journey to the Edge of the Universe

Big Poster
Journey to the Edge of the Universe is a 2008 National Geographic documentary presenting an imaginary journey starting from Earth and exploring — and learning about — the most important parts of the known universe. It is narrated by Alec Baldwin.

The documentary uses images from the Hubble telescope as a starting point and is basically a one-shot journey using computer-generated imagery (CGI). In the first part we visit the planets of our Solar System, exploring their surfaces and their most important satellites, with information presented about the space probes that were sent to explore them. We then go on to the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri, then to the Epsilon Eridani, and then to other star systems in the Milky Way, looking for planets similar to Earth that could sustain life.

We see depictions of supernovas, hypernovas, black holes, we go further to other galaxies, and finally we learn more about the Bing Bang.
