Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures is a 2001 documentary presenting the life and work of innovative film director Stanley Kubrick (1928 - 1999), telling his story by focusing on his iconic films, including Spartacus, Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining and Eyes Wide Shut.

The film is directed by his long-time assistant Jan Harlan and features interviews with many of Kubrick's collaborators, actors who worked with him and other famous film directors such as Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.

A Life in Pictures tries to present an accurate image of what Stanley Kubrick was like as a movie maker and person, how we was interested in every detail of his movies, trying to get the best out of every scene and reinventing himself with every movie.
