The World's Most Expensive Paintings

The World's Most Expensive Paintings is a 2011 BBC documentary written and presented by art critic Alastair Sooke in which he goes through the list of the top ten most expensive paintings ever sold at an action as of 2011, exploring what made those paintings so valuable.

The list contains works by famous painters such as Francis Bacon, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko and Claude Monet. The film goes through the history of each auction, presenting what information about the buyer is available and interviewing art dealers involved in some of the auctions, including a visit to the Christie's auction house in London.
